One of the hot searches today in the internet is about the so called “new logo” of Google, as you can see, the web giant renamed their homepage to “Topeka”. What is Topeka anyway? Topeka is the capital of Kansas and last March 1, 2010, Bill Bunten, the mayor of Topeka proclaimed that for the month of March, Topeka will become Google, Kansas. It’s a support of the city to Google about the fiber optics experiment and they are wishing that Google will choose the city to be the test site for its planned super-fast fiber-optic network. In return, the web giant renamed itself as Topeka to “honor that moving gesture” and it took effect at 1 am on April 1, 2010. It’s a perfect timing for April Fool’s Day that’s why netizens thought that it was a prank made by Google. Google is Topeka, and Topeka is Google is a post from: Daily World Buzz
