On that note: Carrie Fisher has confirmed she will return as Princess Leia for Star Wars Episode VII ! In an interview , Palm Beach Illustrated asked Fisher if she could confirm that she will be a part of Episode VII , to which Fisher responded simply, “Yes.” Fisher has confirmed her involvement then taken it back in the past, so perhaps this should be taken with a small grain of salt. It has been assumed for a while that the new installment will take place a few decades after the events of Return of the Jedi , with Luke, Leia, and Han all returning. Deals are likely currently being worked out for Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, who recently joined the cast of Anchorman 2 .
