Hugh Douglas: FIRED By ESPN Over "Uncle Tom" Comment

Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive standout Hugh Douglas has been fired by ESPN after allegedly calling his co-host Michael Smith an “Uncle Tom.” Hugh Douglas Threatens, Insults Michael Smith Douglas, co-host of Numbers Never Lie , reportedly got into a heated altercation with Smith at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention. At the Florida event last week, Hugh allegedly hurled the racially charged insult at Smith (both are African-American), who he also reportedly threatened to beat up. Douglas never confirmed the incident, but ESPN had previously told media outlets they were “aware there was a disagreement” between the two men. ESPN then fired Douglas moments ago. Douglas tweeted, “I am very disappointed to be leaving ESPN and will have more to say about this situation and my future at the appropriate time.”
