Jay Mohr to Alyssa Milano: I’m So Sorry!

Jay Mohr is sorry. He’s very sorry. Really, he’s pretty much groveling at this point. The comedian came under major fire this week after saying in a radio interview that he recent ran into Alyssa Milano at a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards gala and… well… “She’s very tiny, in height… It seems like she had had a baby and said, ‘I don’t really give a sh-t’ … I read it on her gut.” Milano took the high road in her reply (“So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me,” she Tweeted. “Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife.”) and the backlash from members of the Internet has caused Mohr to hastily retreat. “She’s stunning. I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have [been] taken as a joke. #fail,” Mohr wrote today. He then posted a longer apology on his blog: “I will not make excuses for what I said. Although I immediately removed that segment from my podcast, it still doesn’t change the results. I know full well how much words can hurt people, having seen my wife get destroyed by the tabloids, and I am embarrassed that I didn’t think before I spoke. “Sometimes comedians go too far. I went too far. I cannot change what I said, but I can assure you that my heart is broken that I hurt her. I am very sorry.”  Milano, once again showing class (and humor!), ended the mini feud on Twitter with: “Apology accepted. (She grunts while aggressively yet cautiously prying off her head-to-toe Spanx). #PassTheCookies”
