Once on top of the reality TV world, but now widely disliked and facing an uncertain future, Kate Gosselin appears to be dining on humble pie these days. “I’m living very carefully these days,” People’s new cover girl says. Kate Gosselin: Life After Reality TV Her new outlook comes two years after TLC canceled Kate Plus 8 , the reality show that made she and her eight children with ex Jon Gosselin famous. Two years before that, the couple’s marriage began to implode. It’s all been downhill since. Adding insult to financial injury, Kate Gosselin was also fired last fall from a blogging gig with bargain website CouponCabin. Been a rough stretch. She says she’s “piecing and patching” her income together these days, but that won’t work forever. “To not have a reliable income is scary,” she says. Kate, who famously (and relentlessly) nagged Jon Gosselin on the show that bared their names, admits her attitude may have gotten in her way. “I made so many mistakes, of course,” she laments. All she can do is look forward at this point, however. “It feels like a whole other lifetime ago,” she says. “And sometimes I don’t even remember much of it. Both when the babies were first born and during the divorce, I was on survival mode. I feel like I’ve lived two lifetimes already.” “I’m not the same person I was … I don’t even recognize her.” Let’s just say that can’t be a bad thing. In acknowledging her mistakes and describing her behavior with a sense of self-awareness, Gosselin seems to have turned over a new leaf, finally. Where she goes next, time will tell. But it’s a positive step. Still no apology or explanation regarding the reverse mullet hairstyle she made famous back in the day, but perhaps that’s to come in a future mea culpa.
