Love her or loathe her, Kim Kardashian receives the royal treatment everywhere she goes, having ascended to an A-list fame level and vast wealth. One individual is not particularly impressed, however: Kendall Jenner. The 18-year-old model-in-training, who many believe could be the next Victoria’s Secret angel, made quite a splash at New York Fashion Week. Walking on runways from Paris to NYC and Milan to London, she is bent on forging her own career path (even wanting to be known only as Kendall ). So determined is she to separate herself from her family members and Keeping Up With the Kardashians co-stars, apparently, she has done the unthinkable: Telling Kim Kardashian to stay the heck away from her fashion shows. Kendall reportedly confessed that Kim called her before she was set to take New York by storm and told her she had been invited to attend the shows. According to the Daily Mail (UK) , Kim actually asked her half-sister if she wanted her there, which speaks well of Kim if that’s true … and KJ said thanks but no thanks. The ostensible Kim-Kendall rivalry has gotten its share of tabloid scrutiny, but it’s possible there’s no animosity and that Kim is just surprisingly self-aware. If Kendall is trying to court certain designers, who want to keep the focus on their clothing, a high-profile celebrity like Kim Kardashian can’t help. It’ll turn Kendall into the sideshow, whether that’s the idea or not, so in a sense, it’s not exactly a diss to Kim to ask her to sit one out once in awhile. Just because Kendall wants to have a real career in fashion and not be known solely as Kim’s sister doesn’t necessarily mean there’s any bad blood. Regardless of who is the hot sister now , they have their own paths.
