It’s been over two months since Mike Sorrentino reported to prison to begin serving an eight-month sentence on tax fraud charges. Through his YouTube channel and his wife Lauren, Mike has been able to keep fans updated on the challenges he’s facing behind bars. Obviously, prison is a less than ideal situation for The Situation, but it seems Sorrentino is making the most of it. He’s even been able to continue in his humanitarian efforts by helping Ronnie Ortiz-Magro to get sober through email correspondence. We’re sure the food is insufficient to satisfy Mike’s famously prodigious appetite, but other than that, it seems the Jersey Shore star is making the most of his time on the inside. “Mike says he is being treated like a king in there and that he is actually having a good time,” one insider tells Radar Online. Amazingly, the source says he’s not surprised that Mike has been able to find something positive in his current predicament. “Mike can make a good situation out of anything. So it’s not super shocking,” he says. And how has Mike been passing the time during his tenure at Otisville Correctional Facility? Well, in classic prison fashion, he’s been pumping iron — in fact, those who know Mike best say the famous Situation abs are beginning to re-emerge. On top of that, Mike has been focused on getting his story down on paper. “Mike has been keeping an extensive diary, and has been writing about his experiences every day,” says the insider. Sorrentino apparently has plans to turn his experiences into a book, but he’s well aware that penning a bestseller might be beyond his abilities. “He is just taking notes in his diary for someone else to write it,” the source claims. The bad news is, Mike’s not even halfway through his sentence, and he’ll remain locked through the entire summer of 2019. The good news is, if he keeps his nose clean, Sorrentino could be sprung by late September! Sure, it won’t be beach season on the Jersey Shore any longer — but we’re sure Mike will find some excuse to show off his abs. Stay strong in there, Sitch!
