Representing Team Stage, Diaz was named the winner of this Fox competition on Monday night, receiving the most votes and walking away with $250,000 in grand prize money. Diaz also earned a cover shoot for Dance Spirit magazine, along with the chance to dance with Jennifer Lopez at her upcoming Las Vegas residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort Not too shabby, huh? “Being named America’s Favorite Dancer is a dream come true,” said Diaz, the first ever tapper to take the crown. “Knowing that so many people have appreciated my effort and enjoyed my work is the ultimate compliment, leaving me feeling very accomplished and proud of the work we all have done on this show.” Diaz defeated Hailee Payne, Virgil Gadson and Jana “Jaja” Vankova on the finale. “This has been one of the most exciting weeks of my life, ever,” said Stage Team coach Travis Wall, adding: “The dancer I believed in so much won this for Team Stage and herself. She is the perfect representation for SYTYCD – on and off the stage. “I didn’t know how it was going to end up, but I’m so happy with the results. I’m so proud of her!”
