Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Hunter expressed his feelings about ever playing with a gay teammate. “For me, as a Christian… I will be uncomfortable because in all my teachings and all my learning, biblically, it’s not right,” Hunter replied . “It will be difficult and uncomfortable.” Earlier this year, boxer Orlando Cruz came out of the closet – but no active team member has ever admitted he was gay.
