Move over, Duggars! Another famous reality television family has an announcement to make — and it’s the kind with which you have grown very, very familiar over the years. Zach and Whitney Bates, the stars of Up TV’s Bringing Up Bates, have confirmed to People Magazine that child number-three is on the way. This would be exciting and blessed news no matter what, of course, but it’s all the more special to the couple because Whitney suffered a miscarriage last year. “There are no words to describe the excitement under our little roof as we anxiously await a new little baby!” Whitney said to People today, referencing the aforementioned tragedy and adding: “Last summer Zach and I experienced a miscarriage. Though our hearts were broken, we put all our trust in God. Now, we are all flooded with joy and gratefulness! “The main topic around the house has been about the new baby coming and whose gets to hold it first!” Zach and Whitney are already parents to a four-year old named Bradley Gilvin and an almost-three-year old named Kaci Lynn. Several months ago, the reality stars sadly lost a child just weeks after announcing he or she was on the way at their vow renewal ceremony. To commemorate the baby that died, they planted a dogwood tree in their yard. It’s obviously still difficult to discuss for Zach and Whitney, but they’ve believed all along that God has a plan and this new pregnancy is evidence of said plan. “When I am with my kids, I can look outside, I still see it, I remember it, it hurts, but at the same time, we know that God has a bigger plan and he brought us through that, and that little baby we planted that tree for is with him,” Whitney told People earlier this year. She added at the time: “There’s comfort in that. It hurts, but it helps with the healing.” Bringing Up Bates debuted in 2015 and centers around Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and their 19 children. Yes, their 19 children. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? The show’s baby specials start airing Thursday, May 30 at 10 p.m. ET on UPtv and the final special will air on June 20.
