Artifacts to be Auctioned from Diana’s Ancestral Home

The artifacts from the ancestral home of the Princess of Wales, Princess Diana, will be auctioned this summer. The items are expected to raise £20m. One of the items to be sold from Althorp House in Northamptonshire is a painting by Sir Peter Paul Rubens, which could fetch up to £12m. Another painting “The work,” where it displays a commander being armed for battle, which was painted in about 1613-14 could amount to £12m as well. The home of Earl Spencer is passing through a £10m restoration project. The reinvestment in Althorp and its estate will be funded by the auction of artwork, English and French furniture and porcelain from the Spencer collection and treasure from Althorp’s attics. All the artifacts will be sold in three separate auctions this summer at Christie’s London sales rooms. Artifacts to be Auctioned from Diana’s Ancestral Home is a post from: Daily World Buzz
