A miracle happened in Guyana early Saturday morning when a plane that left New York with 163 passengers crashed at an airport and split into pieces – but everyone survived. Caribbean Airlines Flight BW-523 overshot the runway and crashed at the country’s Cheddi Jagan International Airport shortly after 1 a.m., according to officials and news reports. “We are very, very thankful and grateful that there are no deaths,” Guyana’s President, Bharrat Jagdeo, said at the airport in Georgetown. He said the Boeing 737 narrowly missed sliding down a 200-foot ravine – an outcome that could have led to numerous fatalities. Airline officials told Reuters that one passenger had a broken leg, and several others suffered neck and back injuries. We bet these people will look at life a LOT differently after this experience.
