Microsoft Office 2010: Released

On Wednesday, the Microsoft Corp. began to roll out Office 2010, its latest version of productivity suite, to business customers worldwide. Additionally, the software giant also announced the global availability Microsoft SharePoint 2010, a Web-based collaboration software, as well as the 2010 versions of its diagramming program and project management software. As per statement of Stephen Elop, president of Microsoft’s business division, “Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 define the future of productivity.” President Elop added, “With the 2010 set of products, organizations will save, innovate and grow as their people benefit from working across the PC, phone and browser.” This releases of Microsoft Office 2010 also marked the debut of Office Web Apps, which includes Web-based versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote that enable users to edit and share documents online. Microsoft Office Web Apps is to be the Microsoft’s answer to Google Inc.’s Web-based applications.
