Move That Dope: 16 Atlanta Postal Workers Popped After Accepting Bribes To Deliver Packages Of White

16 Mail Workers Arrested For Taking Bribes To Deliver Drugs Sixteen postal workers are out of a job and headed to the feds today after falling for a sting operation setup in Georgia. 11 Alive reports that the Atlanta delivery people were each accepting bribes and providing “safe” addresses at which packages full of cocaine could be distributed across the Atlanta metro area, before intercepting said packages themselves and hand-delivering them to a person they believed to be a local drug lord. However, the drug trafficker in question was actually an undercover agent, and the packages being routed were full of fake drugs. The sting apparently went on for about 18 months, starting when FBI officials received an anonymous tip that drugs were running through the city right under their noses in neighborhood mailboxes , all with the help of the USPS. FBI placed a “new dealer” on the streets to see exactly who would accept the bribe and run the “drugs.” Several workers actually convinced their other coworkers to get in on the delivery scheme for additional pay, according to FBI sources. SMH. Sheesh, we’re guessing the postal service doesn’t pay as well as it used to once upon a time. But these folks will be paying for their extra cashflow for a long time. Getty/11 Alive
