All week, MTV has been counting down our Best of 2011 , and Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Adele definitely had us talking during our roundtable debates. Perry had the biggest year of them all, being crowned MTV’s Artist of 2011 . “To be Artist of the Year, a whole 365 days, that’s pretty cool,” Perry said in her acceptance speech . Minaj landed at #2 , with Adele, the Throne, Lady Gaga and Rihanna also high on our Artists of 2011 list. Adele might not have topped our Artists debate, but there was no denying her “Rolling in the Deep” was the Song of the Year . Minaj fell just short of the prize again, with “Super Bass” nabbing the #2 spot , and Rihanna’s “We Found Love,” LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” and Gaga’s “Born This Way” were also part of our MTV experts’ roundtable debate.
