MIAMI, Aug. 18 (UPI) — Hurricane Bill was strengthening Tuesday over the Atlantic Ocean on a westward path projected to pass the northern Caribbean, U.S. forecasters said.

Bill could be major hurricane; Claudette soaks part of Southeast (CNN)

Hurricane Bill was churning in the Atlantic Ocean early Monday evening with winds of 90 mph (145 kph), and forecasters said the storm — still far from any shore — could become a major hurricane by Wednesday.
