Just days removed from releasing her new album, Loud , Rihanna was tasked with opening the American Music Awards, which she said was “a lot of pressure.” Her seven-minute performance – a medley of ” Love the Way You Lie Part II ,” new song “What’s My Name?” and “Only Girl in the World” – certainly delivered. Who knew one stage to hold so much cuteness? At last night’s American Music Awards, Justin Bieber may have won big and Rihanna may have opened impressively , but the show closed with the the official formation of NKOTBSB. That’s right, folks, The New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys performed a medley of hits together, giving fans a preview of their upcoming 2011 summer tour. From “Step By Step” to “I Want It That Way,” viewers were transported to a more innocent era, one we didn’t even realize we missed until these iconic groups took us back in time… Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block All you people can’t you see, can’t you see… NKOTBSB!

It’s official. Kate Gosselin fans** everywhere can now breathe a sigh of relief. ** – If you can identify yourself as a Kate Gosselin fan, seek psychiatric help . Amid reports that she’s an abusive monster facing financial ruin , she can rest assured that Kate Plus 8 and her new show, Twist of Kate , aren’t being axed. TLC STAPLE : Kate Gosselin remains one, rumors be damned . Twist of Kate follows the single reality TV mom as she visits and helps families facing tough obstacles. That’s pretty LOL-tastic, given her kids’ rage issues . As it turns out, the flurry of rumors about the shows getting the axe due to poor ratings are “100 percent not true,” a rep for Gosselin confirmed to Us . We just hope she helps families in need pinch pennies by feeding rotten food to their offspring. Hey, it’s a recession, every little bit saved is critical.
