The child of a diplomat, Masako Owada grew up all over the world. Born in Japan, she attended daycare in Moscow, kindergarten in New York and high school in Massachusetts, before graduating from Harvard with a degree in Economics. Her future looked bright. After graduating, she moved back to Japan, where she studied law at the University of Tokyo to prepare for the Diplomatic Service Evaluation.
