Angie Everhart, a model who has often appeared in the pages of Sports Illustrated , has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She will undergo surgery tomorrow. “Word has been trickling out about [Angie’s] health,” the beauty’s rep tells Extra . “[Angie] wants to set the record straight by letting everyone know that it is true that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, however, the prognosis is very good.” The rep adds that Everhart plans on resuming professional duties and mommy duties not long after the procedure. And Everhart also hopes that releasing this information about her disease will “encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately.” We send Angie our best wishes and echo those sentiments.
