Al Qaeda leader Suleiman Hassan Mohammed Murshed Awad arrested

The Ministry, in a statement late on Friday, said Suleiman Hassan Mohammed Murshed Awad was arrested in Zinjibar, the capital of southern Abyan province, once an al-Qaeda hotbed. Iraqi Military Killed The Third Iraqi Al-Qaeda Leader

The combined forces of U.S. and Iraqi have killed the third al-Qaeda leader in the northern province of Nineveh. According to Iraqi military spokesman Maj Gen Qassim al-Moussawi, the al-Qaeda leader was identified as Ahmed al-Obeidi. Obeidi is also known as Abu Suhaid, who was in charge of al-Qaeda in Iraq’s operations in the Northern provinces of Kirkuk, Salahuddin and Nineveh. He was the military commander of the region. Two otherleading insurgents had been killed on Sunday, the Iraqi al-Qaeda leader Abu Ayyub al-Masri and Abu Omar al-Baghdadi. They have led an affiliated group. The al-Qaeda group in Iraq has been blamed for several bloodiest rebel attacks in the country. However, the U.S. is hoping to start the withdrawal of its forces in August this year.
