Lady Gaga is a major advocate for anti-bullying campaigns and LGBT rights, but she’s come under fire for a Tweet she recently posted about … eating. Yes, in what some critics are interpreting as a pro-anorexic statement, the outspoken, wacky-dressing singer recently told her 22.6 million Twitter fans: “Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay,” the 26-year-old posted. Even though she was eating a salad (maybe she’s just dieting?), the backlash started rolling in, accusing the pop star of supporting eating disorders. “Seriously what is Lady Gaga playing at? In her last tweet she put #PopSingersDontEat. What a great role model she is…” one Tweeter posted. Added another Tweeter: “@ladygaga I’m stunned that you would promote such an unhealthy attitude towards food to your fans when you claim to be so righteous.” So far, no response from Gaga on Twitter, and since she’s not doing interviews for awhile, don’t expect a public comment anywhere else.
