Racist And Prejudice Acts Cause Oberlin College To Cancel Classes An Ohio college is sending the message that racism and prejudice will not be tolerated following a series of incidents targeting African-American and gay students . Oberlin University officials recently made the decision to cancel classes to investigate and find out exactly who is behind the acts. via The Guardian A liberal arts college in Ohio suspended classes on Monday after a series of racist and “anti-gay “incidents on campus. Over the past month at Oberlin College, swastikas have been daubed on windows, gay-rights flyers defaced and a poster for Black History Month overwritten to read “N***er History Month”. On Monday, police were called to investigate a sighting of someone dressed as a member of the “triple K clan” near the college’s Afrikan Heritage House in the early hours of the morning. That prompted officials to suspend classes “to make a strong statement about the values that we cherish here at Oberlin: inclusion, respect for others, and a strong and abiding faith in the worth of every individual”.
