As previously reported, many people out there are offended by the notion of a Caitlyn Jenner Halloween costume . Their line of reasoning makes solid sense: Caitlyn has gone public with a brave, challenging, difficult life transformation. She isn’t wearing a costume. She has become a different person. But there’s one person out there who says she won’t be offended at all by anyone dressing up like Caitlyn Jenner on October 31 this year: Caitlyn Jenner herself! “I’m in on the joke,” Caitlyn told Matt Lauer this week when asked about the controversial costumes that are currently on sale. “I don’t think it’s offensive at all. I know the community does and they’ve gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it’s great.” The costume in question is based on Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover pic. It features a white fitted bodice, along with a “Call Me Caitlyn” sash and a brown wig. Jenner is totally cool with it, joking to Lauer that the outfit making the round online could be “better looking” is all. “We could have done my own costume,” she told Lauer. “I mean, that was a serious bustier on the cover of Vanity Fair, you know?” Where do you stand on the Caitlyn Jenner costume controversy? Considering past Halloween costume ideas (remember Ebola nurse ?!?), this one is relatively harmless, albeit uncreative, especially when given Caitlyn’s blessing.
