Boxing: Valero Committed Suicide

The venezuelan world lightweight boxing champion Edwin Valero committed suicide in his prison after being arrested for the murder of his wife. The 28-year-old boxer had confessed that he stabbed his wife Jennifer Carolina Viera de Valero inside a hotel in the city of Valencia on Sunday before he took his own life. It was confirmed by the police officials. Valero’s body was found in his cell hanged using his own clothes and although he showed some vital signs, he soon died, it was stated by the chief police Wilmer Flores Trosel at a state television. The World Boxing Council said that Valero is the only fighter in 30 years of the sport who can be proud of a hundred percent knock out rate from all of his 27 fights. He had gone recently into alcohol rehabilitation and he was detained in March for abusing his wife.
