Tila Tequila has hit back at claims that she was drunk and defended her San Diego Chargers boyfriend Shawne Merriman , saying that he was simply “trying to protect her” during an early-morning row. The Shot At Love starlet was taken to hospital early Sunday morning, after allegedly being attacked by San Diego Chargers star Merriman. According to reports, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department received a disturbance call from Tila ‘Tequila’ Nguyen at 3.35am Sunday morning . She told officers that she had been choked and then restrained from leaving Merriman’s home by the NFL linebacker
