Alison Sweeney is moving on from fake television drama to real-life drama at home. The actress and Biggest Loser host announced during a taping of Ellen (which airs today) that she is leaving Days of Our Lives after 21 years as Samantha Brady. Sweeney emphasizes her love for Sami and Salem and the job and her fans… but told the host she hasn’t had more than a two-week vacation in decades and also has two adorable reasons to bid farewell at this time of her life. “My daughter just turned 5 and my son is 9, and I just want to be with them and enjoy my last year,” she said, adding that she’ll stick around for almost all of 2014. Sweeney isn’t sure what she’ll do next, but her second book is coming out soon and she’d love to direct. But she mainly just yearns to be at home with her husband and her kids for a bit. How would she like Sami to go out? “I mean, it would be awesome to have some kind of happy ending, but then I also think Sami probably deserves some sort of very twisted like Breaking Bad ending,” she joked. “Sami has certainly caused he fair share of drama over the last 21 years. It will be 22 and I don’t even know what happens next!”
