Soulja Boy’s anti-military rap is, not surprisingly, drawing fire from the U.S. Armed Forces. What is somewhat surprising is to see a retired Army sergeant leading the charge with a response to the controversial song in rap form! Leo Dunson, a five-year combat veteran, recorded the trac, “Change Your Name” after hearing Soulja Boy’s “Let’s Be Real.” Basically, Dunson – who raps under the name Sgt. Dunson – comes at Soulja early and often (NSFW lyrics): Sgt. Dunson – Change Your Name Dunson says Soulja Boy’s song is, “The most ignorant thing I’ve heard in so long” and is especially offensive with the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 looming. He says a petition to get Soulja Boy’s music banned from all U.S. military bases is getting support from civilians and all branches of the armed forces. Soulja Boy is, of course, legally free to rap about whatever the heck he wants, but Sgt. Dunson and U.S. troops are certainly free to not like it and hit back.
