Finally, something good comes out of Georgia politics! Congressman John Lewis dancing to “Happy” by Pharrell might be the best thing to happen this legislative session. Yesterday, the International Day of Happiness, was also John Lewis’ birthday. The last remaining member of the Civil Rights Movement’s Big Six turned 74 recently and gathered with his staffers for a belated birthday celebration during which “Happy” was played. Congressman John Lewis Dancing to ‘Happy’ The Congressman began dancing and declared “Happy” “his song.” It’s everybody’s song, Congressman. It’s probably a good enough song to bring about world peace. Michael Collins, the Congressman’s chief of staff, says “Ever since Pharrell came out with the song, he’s wanted to know, ‘Who sings that song? Who sings that song?” “He gets into it. The congressman has this incredible spirit. Whenever he hears the song, he’s like, ‘Turn it up. Turn it up.’ Whenever he hears it, he just lights up.” You and everyone else, John Lewis.
