The day after former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr was found dead in his home, we may have a better idea of what led to this tragedy. While autopsy results have not been revealed, Starr’s roommate tells TMZ his friend was “mixing” methadone and anxiety medication hours before he died. He had reportedly been using the former in an effort to get sober, while downing the latter to deal stress from his arrest last month. Says the roommate: “Mike was a beautiful person who was fighting to stay sober… I am going to miss him greatly.”
