Sarah Palin: Out at Fox News

Sarah Palin and Fox News have agreed to part ways. The former Vice Presidential nominee signed a three-year contract with the network in January 2010, reportedly for $1 million per year, and has offered up her analysis of current events ever since. Most recently, she blasted President Obama for winning Time Person of the Year and slammed his handling of the Fiscal Cliff situation. It was the one issue on which Palin and Obama disagreed. Executive Bill Shine says the network wishes Palin all the “best in her future endeavors,” but there were signs that tension grew over the years between the ex-politician and Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes. He was quoted by The Associated Press in 2011 as saying “I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings.” Karl Rove, meanwhile, recently renewed his contract at Fox through the 2016 election. No word yet on what Palin will do next, but there’s little doubt that producers at Dancing with the Stars are burning up the Alaskan phone lines as we type.
