Skye McCole Bartusiak, an actress best known for her role in 2000’s The Patriot, was found dead at her home in Houston yesterday. The young star was 21 years old. Bartusiak was only seven when she played Mel Gibson’s daughter in the aforementioned drama. She also portrayed the child of Michael Douglas’ character in 2001’s Don’t Say a Word. The cause of death is unknown at this time, but Bartusiak’s mother (Helen McCole Bartusiak) told CNN that her daughter had been suffering from epileptic seizures of late.
