Source: Mint Images / Getty Former Georgia Cop Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison Anthony Hill Death The former Georgia police officer who killed Anthony Hill has been handed down a sentence. Former Officer Robert “Chip” Olsen was sentenced to 12 years in prison Friday for the killing of Hill, a mentally ill, unarmed and naked black man in 2015. CNN reports that DeKalb County Superior Court Judge LaTisha Dear Jackson gave Robert “Chip” Olsen a 20-year term, with 12 years to be served in custody. Under the sentence, Olsen is prohibited from working in law enforcement, possessing firearms or profiting from the case. Prosecutors were hoping for a 25-year sentence with five years probation, but Judge Jackson noted the emotion Olsen had during the trial. “Many might have thought you were stoic and void of emotion,” the judge told Olsen according to CNN. “From the time opening statements started, I saw the tears that you’ve had. I saw how you replayed March 9, 2015, in your head.” Mind you Olsen was NOT found guilty of murder , he was found guilty of aggravated assault, making a false statement, and two counts of violation of oath, but acquitted on two felony murder charges. A jury in DeKalb County, Georgia, has found police officer Robert E. Olsen not guilty on murder charges in the shooting death of unarmed veteran Anthony Hill. The effortless athlete competed in the world championships in Stuttgart, Germany this weekend and once again made history. She not only landed the triple-double during her floor routine, she landed the double-double dismount on the balance beam. USA Gymnastics confirmed on Twitter that the impressive feat ensures that the triple-double on the floor and the double-double on the beam will officially be named “The Biles” and the “Biles II” respectively. “My goal going into tonight was to not be great,” Biles said, reports CNN. “It wasn’t to do great, it was to do well, and I feel like I accomplished that.” Simone already has two moves named for her, one in the floor exercise and one on a vault. If Simone keeps it up she’ll become the most decorated gymnast in world championships history. As previously reported she won a record-tying sixth all-around title at the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Missouri in August. She’s also on track to beat the record for most podium finishes at the world championships. We see you Simone!

The Goodfellas actor drew inspiration from his character Jimmy Conway by dropping the f-bomb twice when clapping back at his critics. During his interview on the CNN show Reliable Sources with Brian Shelter, De Niro was asked how he felt about critics who don’t like his bashing of Trump . Not mincing words at all, the iconic actor let the world know how he really feels by replying  “F​–k ‘em. F​–k ‘em,” with no hesitation. A voice off-camera could be heard yelling “woahhhh,” De Niro quickly apologized, saying “Sorry, Sorry.” Stelter pointed out that they won’t be in any trouble because “This is cable, so it’s not an FCC violation, but it still is a Sunday morning.” De Niro also expressed that he felt the president is not capable of resigning even if he is wrong and described the orange menace as “crazy” and a “gangster.” When asked by Stelter if he meant in the medical sense, De Niro responded: “Possibly medically too. I didn’t think that before, but now I actually – when I saw him out in front of the helicopter waiting to go somewhere, talking endlessly and sweating and sweating … this guy, he’s not even aware of what he’s – he should at least ask somebody for a handkerchief or something and dry himself off.” “There’s just something very strange.”  When Stelter asked the Casino star if he felt Trump was acting, he responded: “In some ways, I think he is. As I think some of these pundits on Fox are too,” he volunteered. “Because I can’t believe they would actually buy into this craziness. Jonah Hill Reportedly Tapped To Play Villain In Upcoming ‘The Batman”

Source: photo: WENN When it was announced that Twilight star Robert Pattinson would be replacing Ben Affleck as the Batman , DC and Warner Bros. immediately saw a backlash from fans who saw this move as a money grab intended to sway Twilight tweens to pack theaters to see Edward Cullen evolve from a teen vampire to a full grown Batman. Though word around the script itself is rumored to center around the classic Batman mini-series The Long Halloween , nothing else has been said about the upcoming Matt Reeves directed film. Until now. According to Variety , fan favorite comedy actor Jonah Hill has been tapped to play the Dark Knight’s antagonist in the upcoming film and though his character continues to be a mystery it is believed that the Superbad actor will either be donning the umbrella and top hat of The Penguin or the cane and question mark etched outfit of The Riddler. While Variety also lists Mr. Freeze as another possible role for Hill, he seems more like a Penguin or Riddler kind of character. Just sayin.’ Regardless of which character he plays his inclusion in The Batman is definitely welcomed by Batman fans and will certainly give us more reason to put down our money at the box office when the Dark Knight swings into theaters sometime in June of 2021. But if Robert Pattinson’s Batman is indeed going to follow the storyline of The Long Halloween , then Jonah Hill won’t be the only villain involved in the film as the classic Jeph Loeb storyline included appearances from a few familiar villains from the Batman universe. Here’s to hoping that DC and Warner Bros. doesn’t screw this one up too and turn Jonah Hill into yet another iteration of the Joker or even worse, Bane. Jonah Hill has been looking particularly pumped these days though so you never know.

Dennis Turner, who is Black, has a history of violent behavior on his record according to several reports. CNN reports : An Orlando elementary school resource officer who arrested two 6-year-olds in two separate incidents was fired Monday, said Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon. Rolon said during an afternoon press conference the department was trying to give the officer “at least the benefit” of reviewing paperwork and statements. “It was clear today when I came into work that there was no other remedy than to terminate this officer,” he said. Rolon added that one of his top priorities as the chief of police is “to earn and protect the trust between the community and its officers” and this incident put that trust into question. “On behalf of myself and the Orlando Police Department, I apologize to the children involved and their families,” Rolon said. Police initially said one child was 8 years old, but Rolon said Monday they were both 6 years old. Turner attempted to arrest a six-year-old girl who was having a temper tantrum last week at Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy. The family of the girl claimed that the girl was fingerprinted and had a mugshot taken of her, but Orlando police denied the claim and say the girl was not processed. The other six-year-old, a boy, was reportedly processed through the juvenile system and released to his parents. Chief Rolon made slight mention of Turner’s own issues with his son, whom he allegedly beat after bringing home a bad report card in 1998 when the boy was seven years of age. Turner was arrested but said in an interview with The Sentinel that he felt within rights to administer discipline to his child. An unidentified California man has died and the state and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is making a major push to warn society of the dangers of this newfound past time. California will launch a $20 million ad campaign to warn against the dangers of vaping, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Monday, the same day health officials said a 40-year-old had died over the weekend from complications related to using e-cigarettes. The CDC’s Emergency Operations Center is investigating over 380 cases of lung disease related to e-cigarettes in order to determine how these products are affecting people’s health. Governor Gavin Newsom is looking to put a cramp in vaping’s potentially fatal style via taxes and other policies that protect children from malignant marketing. As for flavored e-cigarettes, “they should be banned,” Newsom said, adding he could not add that parameter to his order, though he didn’t explain why. “Let’s just dispense with any niceties,” he said. “You don’t have any bubblegum-flavored, mango-flavored tobacco products unless you’re trying to target an audience that you were losing — that’s young people.” What do you think? Source: Madiha Ali / Getty Man Opens Fire After AN Argument At A Youth Football Game According to CNN , a woman and young girl suffered non-life threatening injuries after a shooting outside of a youth football game. A group of parents were allegedly arguing near a youth football game at Eastern Hills Elementary School when the son of one of the parents arrived with a handgun and started shooting . A woman on the scene was shot in the leg and the girl was grazed by a bullet on her back. As of this writing, police are still searching for the person they believe was the shooter. A football player who was stretching for the game told WFAA he saw a man shoot a gun, then take off running. “I ran, and they said ‘Duck!’ so I ducked on the floor,” 11-year-old Adrian Moreno said. “I was laying. It was scary.”

B rooklyn-bred mogul Jay-Z has been dedicated to bringing narratives about the Black experience in America to the forefront. He co-produced the poignant documentary Time: The Kalief Browder Story , helped develop a miniseries about Trayvon Martin and was involved in the creation of the Free Meek docuseries which delves into the Philadelphia rapper’s journey against America’s unjust criminal justice system. For his next project, he’s teaming up with Will Smith to produce a television series that is centered on the civil rights movement, CNN reported. The show’s first season was inspired by a novel penned by Devery S. Anderson titled Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement . Other executive producers include Roc Nation’s Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith , Overbrook Entertainment’s James Lassiter and individuals from Kapital Entertainment, The Middleton Media Group, Serendipity Film Group, and Mazo Partners. Jay-Z strives to utilize his platform to spread awareness about injustice and evoke change by inspiring individuals to take action. “If we had a power base together, it would be a much different conversation than me having a conversation by myself and trying to change America by myself,” he told the New York Times in an interview. “If I come with 40 million people, there’s a different conversation, right?” There is no word on when Women of the Movement is slated to air.
