Page Six reports : We’re told the cable network hopes to hire regular CNN contributors April Ryan, Andrew Gillum, Angela Rye and Bakari Sellers as panelists for a brand-new show. The plan was kicked into high gear following the positive response the group received after appearing on the network’s morning show, “New Day With Alisyn Camerota and John Berman” during the Democratic debates last week. “It was the most excitement on that morning show since Chris Cuomo left as co-anchor,” a source told us. “CNN is fast-tracking talks … to develop it into a stand-alone show. The early chatter is that it could start as a weekend show that would rival MSNBC’s programming with Joy Reid, the Rev. Al Sharpton and Kendis Gibson.” Sounds promising. Source: Hirurg / Getty Police Officer Admits to Using Grieving Family’s Cable Account to Purchase Porn According to CNN , a London police officer serving with London’s Metropolitan Police Service admitted to buying porn at the home of a grieving family. The family, who had been coping with the death of their child , was waiting on the undertaker to arrive when Avi Maharaj bought access to porn channels. Maharaj admitted to purchasing the movies, spending £25.96 (roughly $32). He was investigated after the grieving family filed a complaint with the Metropolitan Police Service. He was the only person at the property at the time of the purchases, and to cover his actions he falsified his attendance log. “PC Maharaj’s behaviour was shocking and even more so given he was guarding the property in the absence of the homeowner…Not only were his actions deceitful but he caused considerable distress for the family involved who were dealing with the sudden death of a family member,” s aid the Independent Police Complaints Commission’s regional director Sal Naseem in a statement. Haharaj will be sentenced for fraud in August and will also face charges of gross misconduct.

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman isn’t ever getting out of prison. Today (July 17), the infamous Mexican drug lord was sentenced to a mandatory life sentence, plus 30 years. El Chapo’s run is officially over. Reports CNN : A federal judge sentenced Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to life in prison plus 30 years, according to the US Attorneys for the Eastern District of New York. The Court also ordered “El Chapo” to pay $12.6 Billion in forfeiture. Restitution will be determined later. Before today’s sentencing, attorney Mariel Colon — who has visited Guzman regularly in prison before, during and after his trial — said she is optimistic about his chances on appeal. El Chapo spoke at his sentencing, complaining about the conditions of his confinement and his inability to visit with his family. Last month, the notorious drug kingpin was convicted in the Federal District Court in Brooklyn on murder, drug and money laundering charges. It is believed El Chapo was involved in the delivery of tons of drugs to the United States. Reportedly , El Chapo will likely be sent to the United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility aka ADX, a supermax prison in Florence, Colorado. Considering he escaped from prison in Mexico twice, don’t bank on El Chapo making it a third while stateside.

After several years of evading arrest and breakouts from prison, the Sinaloa drug cartel leader has been sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years. The news comes from CNN who reports that Chapo, real name Joaquín Guzmán Loera, told the court, “there was no justice here.” The Court also ordered the drug lord to pay $12.6 Billion in forfeiture. The amount he’ll pay in restitution has yet to be established. Source: Ted Soqui / Getty Kamala Harris Has A Plan To Invest In Black Homeownership According to CNN , California Sen. Kamala Harris unveiled a $100 billion plan to invest in black homeownership. Harris would reportedly invest $100 billion of federal money into housing assistance for black families as part of an effort to close the racial wealth gap in the United States. Harris tweeted: “A typical black family has just $10 of wealth for every $100 held by a white family,” she said. “So we must right that wrong and, after generations of discrimination, give black families a real shot at homeownership — historically one of the most powerful drivers of wealth in our country.” Harris’ housing program would come in the form of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grants limited to families with incomes up to $100,000, or $125,000 in high-cost areas. Harris also pledged to work to expand HUD’s fair housing program, strengthen anti-discrimination lending laws and amend the Fair Credit Reporting Act to require that credit scores include rent, phone and utility payments.

Although the internship is a paid one, the single mom, who is currently a student at Georgia State University, is liable for her own travel, housing and other living expenses. Fortunately, her cousin came up with the idea to start a GoFundMe to help get India to her internship, with a goal of $8,000. Within one day, the crowdfund reached $8,510 for the doctorate student. India Jackson is a single mom who balances her time between raising a preteen daughter and using advanced math to predict solar flares and radiation belts.
