The death toll from last week’s 6.9 magnitude earthquake in northwest China has risen to 1,706. There has been an additional 12,128 were injured in the quake Wednesday in Qinghai province. Rescuers have been working 24/7 to help survivors from the debris. The earthquake damaged 15,000 homes around the impoverished country of Yushu, and caused more that 100,000 people to leave the area.
