A Madonna-themed soundtrack from an episode of hit television series Glee has made its debut at number 1 in the US album chart. According to an official record, the power of Madonna including the pop star’s hits performed by the cast has sold out 98,000 copies in its first week. It is the first Glee soundtrack to top the US album chart. About 75% of the Glee Madonna album sales were via downloads. The two albums which were previously released from the TV show made the top five. So far, the two albums have sold nearly 1.5million copies in the U.S. These albums were from its first two seasons. However, the new release based on only one episode of the program, consists Madonna hits including Like a Prayer and Vogue. It is the first TV soundtrack to have top the US album chart after High School Musical 2 in 2007, which stayed four weeks in the number one slot.
