New Birth Missionary Baptist Church plans to reopen its New Birth Christian Academy this Thursday (January 19), according to Channel 2 Action News. It was announced at New Birth’s Sunday service that New Birth Christian Academy will reopen through a cooperative agreement with Aurora Day School. Aurora has campuses in Tucker and Roswell. New Birth Christian Academy was a pre-K-12 school and was founded by New Birth’s senior pastor Bishop Eddie Long . As we previously reported, New Birth Christian Academy’s abrupt announcement in December that it would close after 18 years left hundreds of students and parents looking for a new school. At the time New Birth said it was closing the school due to the poor economy and low student enrollment.
