Jackson’s enthronization ceremony in Wellington, New Zealand put him as a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit. His home town is in New Zealand capital Wellington. He also based most of his businesses here. Jackson told the reporters that he feels incredibly humbled. The ceremony seen in the movies when appointing a knight was not just a solo effort. It involves hundreds of people. This has made him feel that he’s accepting it on behalf of a huge industry. The honor he felt is way too different as compared to winning the Oscars. Jackson has won the best director award for his film “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which won a total of 17 Oscars, including the best picture for the final installment “The Return of the King”. The director was appointed a knight in a ceremony conducted by Governor-General Anand Satyanand, who is Queen Elizabeth II’s representative.
