Teen Electrocuted After Urinating On Lamppost During Mallorca Summer Festival Be careful where you pee… According to NY Daily News reports : A Spanish teenager was electrocuted after he urinated on a faulty lamppost during a music festival. The 18-year-old died in Bunyola, on the Balearic island of Mallorca, early Sunday morning after his pee served as a conductor and sent electricity surging through his body. Rescue workers were called at 12:40 a.m. after the young man was spotted convulsing on the ground. They desperately performed heart massage for 30 minutes, but were unable to detect a pulse and he was declared dead soon after. The tragedy happened during the annual summer fiesta of the town, which has a population of just 6,000 citizens. Town Mayor Jaume Isern expressed his condolences for the family and has since canceled the rest of the celebrations, which are in their 30th year, according to El Periodico. So sad. NBA legend Michael Jordan married Yvette Prieto in Palm Beach, Fla., on Saturday, saying “I do” with his Cuban model girlfriend after five years of dating. The pair made it official in front of a whopping 500 guests, who arrived on tour buses, at Episcopal church Bethesda-by-the Sea, near MJ’s residence. The 50-year-old basketball star then had 1,500 (!) friends to join in the celebrations with himself and Yvette Prieto at the Bears Club, in Jupiter, Fla. Michael Jordan, who first met the 35-year-old beauty at a nightclub in Miami back in early 2008, popped the question in 2011 over the holidays. “They’ve been planning for months and months,” says a source of the couple’s nuptials . “He wanted to give Yvette everything she’s ever wanted.” It’s the second marriage for the former Chicago Bulls star turned Charlotte Bobcats owner, who has three grown children with Juanita Vanoy. Peter Jackson Appointed As Knight In New Zealand

Director Peter Jackson knelt on Wednesday to be tapped on the shoulder with a sword; this is a ceremony to confirm his appointment as a knight. Jackson’s enthronization ceremony in Wellington, New Zealand put him as a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit. His home town is in New Zealand capital Wellington. He also based most of his businesses here. Jackson told the reporters that he feels incredibly humbled. The ceremony seen in the movies when appointing a knight was not just a solo effort. It involves hundreds of people. This has made him feel that he’s accepting it on behalf of a huge industry. The honor he felt is way too different as compared to winning the Oscars. It has a distinctive meaning and significance because in some ways it involves traditions and history. Jackson has won the best director award for his film “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which won a total of 17 Oscars, including the best picture for the final installment “The Return of the King”. The director was appointed a knight in a ceremony conducted by Governor-General Anand Satyanand, who is Queen Elizabeth II’s representative. April 26 Is National Pretzel Day!

April 26 is declared unofficially as the National Pretzel Day.  This food holiday is celebrated annually by paying tribute to all kinds of pretzels made.  It was first declared in 1983 by Robert S. Walker. Then, it was redeclared  by Ed Rendell, Governor of Pensylvannia, in 2003. According to FoodTimeline.org, the pretzel were enjoyed during the ancient times, especially during Lent. In the 7th century, several documented pretzel recipes were discovered. In 610 A.D., it was said that a monk took rolls of leftover dough and shaped them into criss-crossed arms in the shape of praying hands. He called the treat a “pretiola” or “little reward.” Others dubbed his treats “brachiola” or “little arms”. The actual word “pretzel” has German origins and it is said to be similar to the word for “bracelet”. These first pretzels were soft Now, pretzels come in different varieties.  It may come packaged wich you can easily buy from stores, or buy it hot and soft from sidewalk vendors or made at home. It may be plain, salted or flavored, some like it with mustard, others pairs it with a cold beer. NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY TIMELINE 1983 – Rep. Robert S.
