The iconic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris is on fire as we speak. Officials told ABC that “everything is burning, nothing will remain from the frame” as the fire took down cathedral’s spire. The roof also collapsed as workers scrambled to salvage artwork stored and artifacts inside the cathedral erected in 1260 AD. ABC News reports that Paris Mayor Anne Hildago and firefighters warned people to stay away from the area. There have been no confirmed deaths or injuries. Officials believe the fire may be connected to a recent $6 million restoration of the church, officials said. Last week, the statues of the apostles were removed for restoration.
