The Catholic Church and Catholics around the world were outraged in 1966 when Beetles band member John Lenon said that the Beetles are more popular than Jesus. Adding that the Catholic Church will probably vanish and shrink. The Catholic Church found it in their noble hearts to finally forgive the legendary rock band, just like they forgave (and hid) those other priests who molested children. Now we’re a much better world because somewhere in heaven, Buddah, or Santa Clause, now smiles down on the Beetles as they rot in hell. But it’s all ok because God loves us all and will only condemn us to eternal damnation if we say we are more popular than him. The church added that “They may not have been the best example for the youth of the day but they were by no means the worse.
