A day after turning 18, Filipina singing phenomenon Charice Pempengco launched her first US album “Charice” on the May 11, 2010 episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show . Oprah introduced Charice as “ one of the most talented young people we’ve ever had on the show ,” then proceeded to show a clip of Charice from her beginnings as a little girl who joined 90 to 100 singing competitions as a living to her current status – on the brink of superstardom. A tearful Charice said, “I can’t believe these are my own songs,” – and thanked everyone who helped her arrive to where she was now, “and that includes you,” she said shyly gesturing to Oprah. Multiple Grammy Award winning Producer, Mr. David Foster, who took Charice under his wing, was also in the audience. “Pyramid” featuring Iyaz the first cut from the album, will hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Songs Chart on the chart week of May 22 which will be released tomorrow.
