Kena Betancur/Getty Images Woman Claims Her Arrest Was Actually A Case Of Sexual Harassment A woman in Brooklyn is suing the city of New York and NYPD Officer Javier Munoz following a traffic stop that turned into a case of sexual harassment against her arresting officer. Jasmine Campbell is suing for the amount of $2 million after an incident regarding a traffic stop on February 26, 2014. During this incident, NYPD Officer Munoz allegedly “kept looking at [Jasmine] and leaned in like he wanted to have a private talk.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Campbell commented on the officer’s actions saying, “He kept looking down at my chest. He asked me, ‘Do you have anything underneath your shirt?’ I said, ‘No.’ I felt embarrassed. He leaned in further and asked, ‘Do you want to show me something?’ He said that with a smirk on his face.” She also added, “Now, all this sexual harassment is big news — but I have been telling the same story since 2014. This is not something new to me.” ⠀⠀ The stop happened while Campbell was on her way to get something to eat with a friend. On the way, she was stopped by Munoz and another, unidentified cop. Munoz ordered Campbell out of the driver’s seat with her hands up, where the other cop allegedly asked her for a hug, which she refused. Unknown to Campbell, her friend was carrying a small amount of marijuana. Both of them were taken to the 75th Precinct after he confessed, but while her friend was released with only ticket, Jasmine was booked on misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and criminal possession of marijuana. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The NYPD Officer and New York City have denied the claims, saying, “There was probable cause for [Campbell’s] arrest, detention, and subsequent prosecution.” They attempted to reach a settlement with Campbell for $2,500, but she rejected. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
