The Volkswagen Polo was named World Car of the Year. The proclamation at the New York International Auto Show comes at a time when car makers give emphasis to small and fuel sufficient cars. The Polo is Volkswagen’s most popular subcompact. It has good proportion, uncomplicated design and it is also elegant. It’s a small bubble of a car that follows a formula that has worked for the German manufacturer before. According to Charlie Vogelheim who is the executive editor of Intellichoice.com, the Polo vehicle is all about efficiency. More than a few dozen automotive journalists worldwide had chosen the Polo as the World Car of the Year among the three finalists including the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Toyota Prius.
