Guns N’ Roses frontman says he never authorized a statement ‘regarding anything at any airport anywhere.’ By Gil Kaufman Axl Rose Photo: Kevin Mazur/ Getty Images As if further proof was needed that Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose snake-shimmies to the beat of his own drummer, the mercurial frontman issued a statement on Monday denying a previous statement allegedly released on his behalf about last week’s alleged scuffle with paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport . “Axl Rose denies releasing press statement regarding rumored LAX incident,” read the new statement on the band’s official MySpace blog. “I did not release any statement or authorize either any statement or anyone to release a statement regarding anything at any airport anywhere,” Rose explained, apparently referring to a statement issued on Thursday by a Los Angeles-based publicity firm that blamed the LAX scuffle on an “unruly group of paparazzi.” A spokesperson for that firm could not be reached for comment at press time, and though the original statement is still on the band’s MySpace, the name of the firm has been removed from it.
