By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Miley Cyrus ‘ next album, Can’t Be Tamed, is due June 22, Hollywood Records announced Monday (April 26). Cyrus worked with a number of producers on the album, including John Shanks (Jessica Simpson, Kelly Clarkson). The title track, the album’s first single, premieres Friday on MySpace and will hit radio May 3. “7 Things” collaborators Tim James and Antonina Armato produced and co-wrote the single with the pop star; Robert Hales (Demi Lovato, Jonas Brothers, Justin Timberlake) directed the clip for it. According to the label, “Can’t Be Tamed” is “a self-empowering song in which Miley asserts that she has to stay true to herself in relationships, and it is sure to become an anthem among her legions of fans around the world.” Can’t Be Tamed will also be available for download May 18. The album will come in two versions, one of which will be a combo CD/DVD pack; the DVD will contain never-before-seen footage from Cyrus’ Miley World Tour. Also, the concert will get its own prime-time network special, with more details to follow. Fans are especially excited about this album because it could be Miley’s last musical project for quite some time. “I have a record coming out in June, and that’s going to be the last thing I do in music for a while,” Miley said on “The View” earlier this year. “I just want to do films, ’cause I like being someone else. My music is kind of like my diary. I’ll always do that … I just feel like the music industry isn’t as positive as I’d like it to be.” Are you counting down the time until Miley releases her next album? Tell us in the comments!
