Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Cardi B saw how Tiger Woods came back from being completely written off and felt inspired. And powerful. So she’s more than likely naming her album after him. In a recent session on Instagram Live, Cardi told fans, “Everything that I’m working on right now is straight to my album, straight to my album. And I think I’m gonna name my album Tiger Woods . I’m gonna name my album, I think, Tiger Woods because remember when everybody was talking sh*t on Tiger Woods … and then he f**king came and won that green jacket?” Cardi B is naming her next album Tiger Woods (also I’m naming my next dog ). All good news pic.twitter.com/KTebVNvHWY — claire rOGers (@kclairerogers) October 3, 2019 If the name holds true, it follows 2018’s multi-platinum Invasion Of Privacy album which spawned numerous chart-topping hits like “I Like It,” and won the Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards. Looking back on that night, Cardi found herself reflecting in a recent note to fans. “I didn’t have no words to say but when I went home I started reminiscing on what I went thru during that period,” Cardi said back in August of bagging the award. “I was like YEA B***H YOU DESERVE THIS SH*T. [And] until this day my sh*t still charting.” You can catch Cardi in theaters right now as part of the ensemble cast of Hustlers featuring Jennifer Lopez , Constance Wu , Lizzo , Keke Palmer and more. Recently, she found herself thrown into headlines courtesy of defamed rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine during his testimony in a trial in New York, for which she had the perfect response . Rihanna is building an inclusive beauty and fashion empire the world has never seen before. I’m not even hyperbolizing. It’s all true with receipts to back it up. She launched the most inclusive makeup collection with 50 shades from from fair to deep cocoa before creating a lingerie line that doesn’t make women desire to be the fantasy, but rather remind them they’ve always been the fantasy, regardless of shape, size, color, or condition. No male approval needed. View this post on Instagram @savagexfenty’s new June drop!! OUT NOW! savagex.com A post shared by badgalriri (@badgalriri) on Jun 1, 2019 at 7:07am PDT She’s truly dominated the fashion and beauty space since entering in 2014. As the creative director at PUMA, she increased the brand’s earnings at a net income increase of 92% for the quarter, with the company’s share price rising €200 since her role was announced, according to Billboard . Let’s not forget her Fenty Puma creeper was crowned FNAA’s 2016 Shoe of the Year . And, as of May 2019, Rih launched her luxury fashion line Fenty with LVMH (the French French luxury goods company that owns Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Louis Vuitton), becoming the first woman ever to do so. Thanks to these boss moves, sis is the wealthiest female musician in the world . Yes, musician. Which brings me to my point. As Rih Rih expands her brand grows into her very own right as a mogul, her music seems to suffer and it’s not like fans haven’t noticed. Neon zebra-print undies and perfectly pigmented lip paints can only distract us for so long. Don’t get me wrong, I own a few (read, a lot) of Fenty items between makeup and clothing , but when it comes down to it, I’m a Rihanna fan, and as a fan I’m alway going to want what I originally came for, and that’s music (followed closely by her ability to throw shade). View this post on Instagram @fenty A post shared by badgalriri (@badgalriri) on May 27, 2019 at 4:11am PDT It’s been a cool three years since Rihanna released ANTI which featured SZA and Drake. In May 2018, she told Vogue fans can expect something a bit more Caribbean and “devoted to exploring [her] Caribbean roots.” View this post on Instagram #GuavaIsland @amazonprimevideo hit the link in my bio A post shared by badgalriri (@badgalriri) on Apr 17, 2019 at 4:08pm PDT In December 2018, a fan asked Rihanna when she planned to release R9 by writing under a promotional photo of Fenty Stunna Lip Paint in Flamingo Acid. “2019” she said. Looks like Rihanna is dropping her album in 2019. pic.twitter.com/RfQq9T6AZ2 — Karen Civil (@KarenCivil) December 22, 2018 Looks like she’s got about three months before The Navy riots. But seriously, on Sept. 10, Rihanna shared more heartbreaking news concerning her album while on the red carpet for her Savage X Fenty fashion show. “Y’all gon’ have to wait Navy. I’m so sorry,” she said to Entertainment Tonight . https://twitter.com/musicnewsfact/status/1171771545934422021 She also refuted reports she’d be performing at the Super Bowl. “Girl, I still got an album to finish. You’re asking me about the Super Bowl, really? My fans are about to have my neck,” she finished. Hmm… this sort of statement kinda sounds like the album is far from finished. View this post on Instagram Nobody: Me: Album coming in 2019 Navy in July: A post shared by badgalriri (@badgalriri) on Jul 11, 2019 at 11:22am PDT Come to think about it, Rih’s been silent on the album front ever since speaking with Vogue in May 2018. Her Instagram doesn’t let on that she’s in the booth and no producers have spilled any beans on making any in-studio magic. So, is the album ever coming? There may be some hope yet. During the same conversation, Rihanna let on that she’d be more than willing to collaborate with alternative rap artist Lizzo , on anything. “I would collaborate with her on the lights for this interview right now, like Lizzo is so badass.” She definitely is and hopefully she can light a fire under our beloved Bajan beauty. After extensive research, this is all we got — a promise and a whole lot of makeup and undies to wait out the remaining three months. Sigh… I’m crossing my fingers for 2019 R9 , but I don’t suggest holding your breath. DON’T MISS: Can Y’all Stop Speculating On Rihanna’s Womb & Just Let Her Eat? The “Pinkprint” lyricist went on to confirm the rumors, telling fans on her Queen Radio show in August that the two would be wed before her album drops. “I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later. I’ll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out. Before the 90 days is over, yes, I will be married,” she revealed on air. Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Close Thank you for subscribing! Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty It’s no secret LeBron James loves Hip-Hop, and 2 Chainz loves basketball , so this union makes perfect sense. Tuesday (Feb.19) Def Jam announced the two will come together with the hoop star serving as A&R for the rapper formerly known as Titty Boi’s 5th studio album, Rap or Go To The League. It’s been quite the journey to get here. All night studio sessions, reflecting, & opening up on these records or as I call it therapy! This is my each one teach one body of work, I wanna celebrate black excellence! ….. “Rap Or Go To The League” the album A&R by @KingJames 3/1 pic.twitter.com/08Y2fYKJ6X — Tity Boi (2 Chainz) (@2chainz) February 19, 2019 While the news came as a surprise to everyone, this whole situation sounds perfect. A&R Bron as he is affectionately known as now due to his social clips of himself vibing out to the latest Hip-Hop releases was tapped by 2 Chainz to curate the album due out March 1. Def Jam describes the project as the rapper’s “most personal, most lyrical, most soulful to date,” that will focus on the trope that the only way inner-city youth can get out of the hood is either by hooping or rapping hence the title Rap or Go To The League . 2 Chainz is the perfect person to tell this story on wax because he was also a pretty good basketball player earning a full ride to Alabama State University and graduating at the top of his class before hopping in recording booths. Rap or Go To The League is his latest album since his well-received platinum LP Pretty Girls Like Trap Music that featured hits like “4 AM” featuring Travis Scott, the Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz and Jhene Aiko assisted track “It’s A Vibe” just to a name a few. We can’t wait to hear the album and to see if Bron’s A&R skills are on par with his basketball skills. — Photo: Kevin Mazur / Getty

He’s joined in the video and on the song by a very buff Schoolboy Q, an always swaggy 2 Chainz, and Ear Drummer Records artist Eearz. The visual is quite entertaining, to say the least. Check it out for yourself if you’re in need of a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

Cole, Offset, Childish Gambino, City Girls, and Post Malone just to name a few. “A Lot,” the album’s lead single, was co-produced by DJ Dahi and Bodak Yellow producer J. White. Happy New Year! Global Grind is back with episode 24 of The Rewind , the very first episode of the year, and we’re doing what we always do — giving you your much-needed dose of recap reality. Every week we revisit some of the pop culture trends, movies, viral moments and music from the week before and give our hot takes. Our experts Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise share their opinions, sprinkle in some facts and then when it’s all over and done with, provide a rating of 1 to 10. We listen to the songs, watch the movies, scour the internet, and do the hard work so you don’t have to. Without further adieu, let’s jump into this week’s episode. This week DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius discuss Tekashi 6ix9ine’s latest release, Dummy Boy . The debut album was originally slated to drop on November 23, 2018 but when Tekashi was arrested on a slew of felony charges, the release was postponed. However, the album ended up leaking on Tekashi’s website anyway and in a rush to offset the damage being done by the leak, Tekashi’s team released the album on November 27, 2018, four days after its initial release date. Dummy Boy featured the tracks “Tati” featuring DJ Spinking, “Fefe” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Bebe” featuring Anuel AA and “Stoopid” featuring Bobby Shmurda. It debuted on the US Billboard 200 with 66,000 album-equivalent units, of which 10,000 were pure album sales. It’s still up for debate whether it was the number one album or if it was number two behind Travis Scott’s Astroworld . DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius weighed in on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s debut effort after giving it about a month to sink in. Did they think it was worth copping? For Landon, not at all. He completely hated the album. For DJ Franchise, it wasn’t too bad. Press play on the video above to see how our guys rate the new album. This week, Franchise and Landon also discuss the new Jay Ellis film “Escape Room”, which hits theaters on January 4. The movie is about six strangers who travel to a mysterious building to take part in an escape room game where they’re asked to solve a series of puzzles to win $1 million. However, things become quite dangerous when what starts out as seemingly innocent fun soon turns into a living nightmare as each room becomes an elaborate trap that’s part of a sadistic game of life or death. Do you think Landon and Franchise were feeling the film? Press play to see what they said!
