Global Grind’s bullies, DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius are back once again for another episode of  The Rewind . Just in case you’re new here, Every week we get our experts to discuss the cultural happenings of the last week. They’ll take some time to explain what you may have missed, offer their expert insight and then when they’re all done, rate them from a 1-10. In case you have been living under a rock,  The Rewind  will always be here to get you right. Today, Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise  (aka The Family Guy and The Bully)  are bringing the savagery! That’s right, we’re talking about 21 Savage’s latest album, I Am > I Was (I Am Greater Than I Was). This is 21 Savage’s second studio album and was released on December 21, 2018 … get it, December 21, like 21 Savage! The album features appearances by Travis Scott, J. Cole, Offset, Childish Gambino, City Girls, and Post Malone just to name a few. “A Lot,” the album’s lead single, was co-produced by DJ Dahi and Bodak Yellow producer J. White. It also contains a sample from “I Love You for All Seasons” by The Fuzz. Upon the release of I Am Greater Than I Was , fans seemed to be quite impressed. Online reviews began pouring in and it appeared that everyone was quite pleased with 21 Savage’s growth and development on this project. The album was undoubtedly well received and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 for the first chart of the year. This was also 21 Savage’s first ever number one album, selling 131,000 in its first week. DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius jumped right into talking about the album. Landon, being the Atlanta native that he is, was very excited to talk about the project. He discusses attending 21 Savage’s album listening experience in Glenwood and truly dissects the theme of the album. Do you think our resident bully DJ Franchise was feeling it? However, all of that almost got overshadowed by one Fiji water employee who seemed to be at the right place at the right time on multiple occasions. Kelleth Cuthbert thought she was just doing her job when she made Fiji bottles available to Golden Globes guests on the red carpet. However, because she was so close to celebrities, the cameras caught her in the background for a ton of red carpet photos… And she looked fabulous. The rapper was recently performing at the final stop of his “This Is America Tour” when he shocked fans by announcing that he’d been mourning the death of his dad. According to Donald, his father Donald Glover, Sr. passed away in recent weeks and he’s been reeling ever since. “I lost my father a couple weeks ago,” said Glover. “I wanted to play him some of the new songs, but he didn’t want to hear them, because he was like, ‘I know they’re going to be great,’” Gambino continued, as he appeared to struggle to maintain his composure. “I’m not saying that to talk about music – I say that to talk about trust,” he explained. “That’s what love is. I am in Los Angeles, and like me, a lot of people in Los Angeles, don’t give a fuck about the Golden Globes or their bullshit parties you would think would put any other city in lock down. If anything, the rest of the world cares so fucking much about these bullshit self righteous things, you know events to celebrate people who have already won, in movies that are generally pretty devoid of any artistic merit, that the perception is that it is a bigger deal than it actually is….I blame the media and you should too. I didn’t crash any parties, I did get stuck in traffic cuz I took a wrong turn in front of the venue the event was at, accidentally, and I did watch 5 minutes of the bullshit to see that none of those white people thanked Jesus Christ their lord and saviour…. I saw the list of winners, they were all the expected choices, because I guess the Hollywood Foreign press is paid off by the same people, and really unless you were a winner last night and your career is going to turn the fuck around because of it, you have no real reason to care…. That said, the team in the stepFORUM did a round up of everything Golden Globes, so if you are into these over paid cunts in dresses thinking they are a big deal, you’ll love it.
