L.A. based sibling act JAMESDAVIS released their music video for latest single “Evergreen” today. The song remains a standout from the group’s 2018 EP, Lamplighter Vol. 1 [Motown], available now. JAMESDAVIS is a Los Angeles-based band comprised of fraternal twins Jess & Rey, and their younger brother, Auston. In addition to singing and songwriting the siblings also play instruments—piano, guitar and Maschine to name a few. They’ve performed and captivated audiences of all sizes—from small clubs and lounges to the large stages across the U.S. The band describes their 2015 self-titled debut EP as “an intimate collection that yearns for a connection with others, fitting for a group who describe themselves as out-going introverts.” Recorded in Auston’s bedroom, the project received praise and coverage from mainstream outlets and acclaim from industry veterans and musicians alike. Just one hour after posting her personalized Valentines Day gift on Instagram , Jess Hilarious deleted it and shared a more cryptic post about her new man Kountry Wayne saying, “And just like that, you cut off…NO TIES but thanks for the house & all the NEW FURNITURE MOTHAF*** pics coming soon.” Soon after Jess shared the pic of her V-day gift from Wayne, his estranged wife Gena Colley shadily posted a photo of the comedian laid up on her couch with the caption, “A headache”. Chiiileee, 2019 is something else. At least Jess got some new furniture out of it.
Safaree Samuels continues to embrace the struggle. The reality star, and Nicki Minaj’s ex, show up late to the Love & Hip Hop: New York reunion taping in Atlanta, and of course it was dramatic. Reports TMZ : Sources close to the situation tell TMZ, Safaree was supposed to appear in Atlanta Wednesday to shoot the ‘LHH’ show. We’re told last Friday he was committed to do the special — but he had a change of heart on Monday — backing out due to what he called safety and mental health concerns. Our sources say VH1’s parent company, Viacom, promised Safaree they’d put necessary measures in place to make sure he felt safe — including additional security if a fight broke out — but he wouldn’t budge. Bill Cosby is having an “amazing experience” in prison apparently With recent talks about mass incarceration and prison reform, many folks across the country are having deep conversations about what justice looks like. Bill Cosby ‘s experience in prison is sure to stir the pot, especially since his lawyer, Andrew Wyatt , says Cosby is having an “amazing experience” behind bars. Wyatt spoke to WCAU-TV about Cosby’s time in maximum security at a facility near Philly. Cosby is serving up to ten years after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand back in 2004. Wyatt said Cosby has high spirits while in prison, and he’s even talking to other inmates and encouraging them. “Despite the circumstances, he said, ‘This is an amazing experience,’” Wyatt said. “Mr. Cosby had prepared himself… He’s mentally strong. He’s just a strong man.” Wyatt and Cosby even maintained his innocence amidst sexual assault accusations from over 50 women. “When I visit him, it’s nothing sad about it,” Wyatt said. “He’s not sad. He’s not remorseful because he did nothing wrong.” Cosby’s “amazing experience” brings to question whether the women accusing him of rape really got the justice they needed. It’s a peculiar thought that might not have an answer right now, but one thing’s for certain… The strange times don’t stop.

Rapper Willie Bo Shot Dead By Vallejo Police 21-year-old rapper Willie “Willie Bo” McCoy was killed last night after Vallejo police officers found him asleep in the drive-thru lane of a local Taco Bell according to the SFChronicle . Officers say McCoy was asleep with a gun on his lap when they approached his silver Mercedes, but as they “assessed the situation” McCoy “suddenly moved”. “The officers told the driver to keep his hands visible, however the driver quickly reached for the handgun on his lap,” police said in a statement. “In fear for their own safety, the officers discharged their weapons at the driver.” A Guardian report on this incident revealed that six officers fired shots within four seconds of each other, the department has not said how many bullets struck Willie. Police say the gun that was recovered from McCoy’s possession was reported stolen in Oregon. The family ain’t hearing none of it and rightfully so. “There was no attempt to try to work out a peaceful solution,” Marc McCoy, Willie McCoy’s older brother, told the Guardian. “The police’s job is to arrest people who are breaking the law — not take the law into your own hands. You’re not judge, jury and executioner. … We’re never going to get over this.” Rest in peace Willie McCoy.

Following Cardi B ‘s win for Best Rap Album on Sunday, BET tweeted that the “Hard White” rapper was “being dragged by her lacefront.” Nicki found the tweet offensive and responded by announcing that her and the rest of the YM camp will not be performing at the BET Experience Weekend in June. Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward.
