Source: Harry How / Getty With his glory days behind him as he considers riding off into the retirement sunset, Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzk i was honored for his court contributions in a most classy fashion. Los Angeles Clippers Doc Rivers used a timeout during a contest to urge the Staples Center crowd to stand and clap for Nowitzki. ESPN reports : Dirk Nowitzki had no idea why LA Clippers coach Doc Rivers called a timeout with 9.4 seconds remaining and his team leading by nine points Monday night. Rivers’ reasoning became clear seconds later when he walked to the scorer’s table, picked up the public address announcer’s microphone and gave an impromptu tribute to Nowitzki, the legendary face of the Dallas Mavericks franchise who is in his 21st season. “Dirk! Dirk!” Rivers hollered, gesturing to the Staples Center crowd to show its appreciation to the all-time great who was playing perhaps his last game in the arena, then pointing toward Nowitzki. “Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!” “One of the greatest of all time, Dirk Nowitzki!” Dirk Nowitzki hasn’t officially retired but it’s rumored he will step down at the conclusion of the current NBA season. — Photo: Getty

This only makes sense. Louisville is renaming its airport after hometown legend, and the greatest, Muhammad Ali . CNN reports that the Louisville International Airport will become the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. The decision comes after a reportedly year-long study on a renaming that was voted on Wednesday (Jan. 16). “This tells the world how proud we are to associate ‘The Greatest’ with not only our great city, but our great airport,” said Jim Welch, chairman of the Airport Authority Board, via a press statement . Ali was born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. on January 17, 1942 in Louisville. An airport in Kentucky is being named after a proud Black man. How dope is that? Muhammad Ali belonged to the world, but he only had one hometown. Today’s decision to change @flylouisville ’s name to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is a major piece of a broader effort to celebrate those deep ties. pic.twitter.com/mxXyX4pILl — Mayor Greg Fischer (@louisvillemayor) January 16, 2019 — Photo: WENN.com
Hot wings are big business in the hood and whether you get em from your neighborhood Chinese spot or right off of Nicki Minaj’s neck (remember that?), everyone appreciates a well done wing. 2 Chainz rams that notion home in his visual for “Hot Wings” where the rapper that tends to rock way more than 2 chains finds himself inside American Deli where two shorties end up scrapping over an order of lemon pepper wings. Truth be told we don’t know what kind of wings they were but only an order of some lemon pepper wet would lead to that kind of hysteria. Top NBA Rookie Marvin Bagley III meanwhile has become the latest player to try his hand at rapping and in his clip to “Look At Me Now” spits a positive message for the young generation wishing on a star. Adam Levine found himself in the hot seat on Monday night. The longtime coach on The Voice felt the ire of the internet last week when he urged viewers to vote to save Reagan Strange, despite her not being well enough to perform in the sing-off. In the process, he threw his other act, DeAndre Nico, under the bus, and everyone seemed mad at him. Last week “was a strange week, but it’s over now,” Adam said to Reagan. “DeAndre’s my boy. I love him. We talked. It’s all good.” Viewers later got to witness a video call between DeAndre and Reagan later in the night; the former had nothing but praise for his 14-year-old former teammate. “Do your best, man,” DeAndre said, “and stay positive.” It’s classy for DeAndre to throw some support Reagan’s way, especially when you consider the backlash to this whole thing that could have been avoided. If you thought Adam was ready to say anything else about it, you were wrong. Carson Daly seemingly decided against asking him much about the performers. As for Reagan Strange’s big performance? It was meh. The youngster went with Calum Scott’s “You Are the Reason,” and while the youngster has proven to have a solid voice, this was not the best song for her. It was just all over the place, and her nerves were also to blame. By this stage of the game, you should be acclimated with performing live. It makes sense that viewers wanted Reagan gone for that reason, but it remains to be seen whether Tuesday will be her big goodbye. The best performance of the night was Kennedy Holmes and her rendition of “This Is Me.” She pulled out all the stops to ensure this Greatest Showman song was performed perfectly. She even put her own spin on it, to boot. Whether viewers will vote for her is another story because, well, the viewer vote is never a sign of quality. As for the worst performance of the night? That honor goes to Sarah Grace who went with “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles. There wasn’t anything remotely likable about this number. From shaky vocals to awkward moves, there was something off about the rendition from the get-go. The true test will be whether she winds up in the bottom three, which could really go either way. Who did you like best on the night? Did Adam Levine make a mistake? Hit the comments below. The Voice continues Tuesday at 8/7c. View Slideshow: The Voice Winners: RANKED!
