Los Angeles Clippers Doc Rivers used a timeout during a contest to urge the Staples Center crowd to stand and clap for Nowitzki. ESPN reports : Dirk Nowitzki had no idea why LA Clippers coach Doc Rivers called a timeout with 9.4 seconds remaining and his team leading by nine points Monday night. Rivers’ reasoning became clear seconds later when he walked to the scorer’s table, picked up the public address announcer’s microphone and gave an impromptu tribute to Nowitzki, the legendary face of the Dallas Mavericks franchise who is in his 21st season. “Dirk! Dirk!” Rivers hollered, gesturing to the Staples Center crowd to show its appreciation to the all-time great who was playing perhaps his last game in the arena, then pointing toward Nowitzki. “Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!” “One of the greatest of all time, Dirk Nowitzki!” Dirk Nowitzki hasn’t officially retired but it’s rumored he will step down at the conclusion of the current NBA season. — Photo: Getty

Kelly tell TMZ, the singer is “disgusted” by the series, which makes shocking allegations against him including sex with various underage girls, physical abuse and mind control. People interviewed say he’s running a sex cult. The sources say R. Kelly views the series as a “vendetta” against him by producers and others who have hated him throughout his professional career. We’re told R. Kelly’s team downloaded him on the various people who appeared on the show and he claims he doesn’t even know half of them. He claims the other half hate him for various personal and professional reasons. We doubt the “I don’t even know her” defense would work in court. But then again, the crooner has gotten away with his alleged abuse for years. (Creatas Images) A California high school teacher was arrested after video surfaced of him allegedly punching one of his students who used a racial slur, CBS Los Angeles reports . Marston Riley, 64, was released November 3 from the Los Angeles County Jail after posting $50,000 bail, according to reports. Cellphone video showed the student taunting Riley, calling him the N-word and cursing at him. Riley was clearly growing more frustrated and then he began repeatedly hitting the student, and at one point, using an object to hit him. The student was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and released, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The student responded with racist comments. “It was just back and forth, back and forth, and then the teacher just decided to throw a punch and that’s when everything happened,” the witness said. A GoFundMe page has been created by the teacher’s supporters to raise money for his legal fees. They say he’s been physically or verbally attacked in the past.
